What is an energy transfer document?

The energy transfer document is a form that needs to be filled in:

- If you are moving and want to terminate the contract in your name for your old address, you must complete the document together with the transferee of your old address. You are in this case ""the leaving customer"".

- If you want to transfer a contract in your name to or start up for your new address (i.e. as a withdrawing customer), we need the following data (these are also requested on the energy transfer document):

  • the EAN code(s) which consists of 18 digits and always starts with 54. You will find this code on your invoice. If you do not have this code, you can request it from the network operator.
  • the meter readings for electricity and/or gas. These can be found on the dial of your meter (in kWh for electricity, in m³ for gas).
  • the meter number(s) you can find on your meter itself.
  • the name of your current energy supplier. Even if the new occupant of your old address wishes to switch, this must be mentioned on the document in case of a dispute.
  • the date of the move. If the meter reading did not take place on the same day as the move, you must fill in the date of the meter reading.
  • the signatures of both the departing and moving customer.

All these details are necessary to guarantee the correctness of your meter readings. Based on the meter readings, we can issue a settlement invoice corresponding to your actual consumption. When you move into your new address, you can also immediately be sure of the correct initial meter readings.

Please note that the energy transfer document is legally required. It may also be needed in case of a change in circumstances (e.g. divorce or decease).
