What type of connection is used?

The charging points use a single-phase connection. The advantages of this are:

  • By choosing an EnergyVision charging point, you've made a smart move. We work exclusively with single-phase connections, meaning only one phase is used to deliver electricity (instead of three-phase connections). This is convenient because almost every home is equipped with a single-phase connection. So, no additional technical work is needed!

  • No worries about unexpectedly high capacity charges. The capacity tariff is designed to prevent everyone from using too much electricity at the same time (which helps keep the grid stable). That’s why the tariff is not calculated based on your total consumption, but on your highest peak usage. The more electricity you use at once, the higher your cost. Good to know: with a single-phase connection, that peak (and thus the tariff) is usually lower than with a three-phase connection. This helps you avoid spikes in your capacity charge. Smart!

  • Smart charging with solar power. In general, you can consume more solar energy with single-phase connections. The more energy you generate yourself, the less electricity you need from the grid. That’s not only more sustainable, but also better for your wallet. A double win! This way, you charge affordably with your own solar energy.
